The challenge, should you choose to accept it..............

Kids are a clothing nightmare. They outgrow clothing the minute you buy it from the department store. Ive thankfully been blessed by the Powers That Be with 3 boys spaced very close together; so we have a nifty little conga line of hand me downs happening. If the clothing survives the precending brother. Which isnt often these days.
My kids closets are full of pre loved clothes gifted to us by friends and relatives. I started thinking; why on earth am I ok with having my kids wear perfectly good pre loved clothing, but I dont? Id rather battle the shopping centre, spending untold amounts of moolah on a peice of clothing that either a) doesnt fit right b) doesnt last long or c) goes out of fashion rather quickly. Ive had a few lovely op shop finds here and there. Theyve become staple items in my closet. So why not make that the norm?

Chintzy: not as good, lower quality, fashion clashing.......

So Ive set myself a challenge. The Chintzy Challenge.
By the time January 1st 2012 rolls around, 75% of my clothing is going to be preloved - bought from op shops or from Ebay. Im going to prove that preloved clothing is just as fashionable and good quality as department store bought clothing. I bet most people wont even be able to tell the difference.

Are you brave enough to take the Chintzy Challenge?

(If you are, share it with me!)
